PROGRAM FORMAT

Thinking Organized’s summer programs run on a weekly cycle, Monday – Thursday for one hour each day, throughout the summer.

  • Getting Things Organized is offered at 11 a.m., and prior registration is required.
  • Each program is individualized and one-on-one.
  • The cost per four-day program is $595.

To schedule this summer program:

  • Click the registration link and follow the steps.
    • Select a start date and time on the calendar (programs always start on a Monday).
    • Select your preferred location (Thinking Organized office or virtual) and fill out the questionnaire.
    • Submit payment via PayPal (there is an option to pay by credit card, as well).

Getting Things Organized

 

ELEMENTARY – Early Executive Functioning!

Join Thinking Organized this summer for our Getting Things Organized: Early Executive Functioning, a one-on-one program designed to introduce elementary-grade students to a variety of material organization, time management, problem-solving, and planning strategies. Students will learn about the unique, kid-friendly methods they can use to better organize their thought processes, time, and space to improve their success with tasks at school and at home. Students will also participate in brain-building games to practice executive functioning skills.

Schedule:

  • Day 1: Organizing your materials at school: backpack and desk
  • Day 2: Organizing your materials at home: toys, clothes, workspace
  • Day 3: Organizing your time: homework, chores, and fun
  • Day 4: Organizing your thoughts: plans and words

Students must bring a pencil.


MIDDLE SCHOOL – Tween Executive Functioning!

Join Thinking Organized this summer in a one-on-one program designed to develop middle school students’ executive functioning skills and strategies. In Getting Things Organized: Tween Executive Functioning, students will learn about the unique methods they can use to better organize their thought processes, time, and space to improve their success with tasks at school and at home, as they navigate the transition to middle school with increased responsibilities.   Students will also participate in brain-building games and activities to improve executive functioning skills.

Schedule:

  • Day 1: Organizing your materials at school: backpack, desks, locker, portal
  • Day 2: Organizing your materials at home: hobbies, clothes, workspace
  • Day 3: Organizing your time: homework, chores, and extracurricular activities
  • Day 4: Organizing your time: longer-term plans

Students must bring: laptop, pen. Recommended: Their binder and planner for the school year.


HIGH SCHOOL – Executive Functioning for High School and Beyond

Join Thinking Organized this summer in a one-on-one program designed to develop high school students’ executive functioning skills and strategies. In Getting Things Organized: Executive Functioning for High School and Beyond, students will learn about the unique methods they can use to better organize their thought processes, time, and space in order to improve their success with tasks at school and at home, as they navigate the transition from adolescence toward the increasing independence needed for college and adulthood.

Schedule:

  • Day 1: Materials: Organizing the physical and digital environment at school and at home so everything is easy to find.
  • Day 2: Time: Choosing a planner/online system to manage tasks, learning how plan and prioritize
  • Day 3: Metacognition: Learning how to self-monitor attention and learning, recognizing when it’s appropriate to self-advocate
  • Day 4: Long-term plans: Setting SMART school-year and high-school goals and making action plans to achieve them

Students must bring: laptop, pen. Recommended: Their binder and planner for the school year.
