(INACTIVE) Full Time Educational Mentor

Thinking Organized is a dynamic practice consisting of Speech-Language Pathologists and Educational Mentors servicing clients in MD, DC, and VA in-person and virtually around the country and globally. Our practice is growing, and we are looking for a 10-month or 12-month Educational Mentor to join us.
About Thinking Organized
Thinking Organized offers a unique program for all ages. The program focuses on helping the disorganized thinker approach work and daily activities in a systematic and efficient way. Our strategies are designed for individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Executive Function weaknesses, language processing difficulties, and learning challenges.
We work with students, elementary school through college, as well as adults, and specialize in helping people improve all aspects of organization in academic work.

About the Position
  • Your caseload will consist of carefully matched clients – you will use your unique skills and experience to support your clients and help them achieve success.
  • We value and provide hands-on professional training and mentoring. You will learn organizational strategies and unique methodologies that can be applied during client sessions.

About You
  • Extensive experience coaching, teaching, or tutoring K-12 and/or college students.
  • Experience supporting students or clients with organization, time management, and studying strategies; knowlege of how to model and implement these strategies
  • Knowledge of high school math and/or science or K-12 literacy a plus
  • Standardized testing experience a plus
  • Have an enthusiastic, engaging and encouraging tutoring style
  • Punctual, organized, creative and a self-starter
Position Requirements
  • Reliable personal transportation: you will travel to our office and to clients’ schools on a regular basis. Most schools are not easily accessible by public transit.
  • Ability to work our core hours: 3pm-8pm Monday-Thursday in our office in Chevy Chase, MD; outside of core hours the schedule is flexible/remote
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred
