Elementary School

Programs tailored for elementary school-aged students include:

  • Ready Reader
  • Just Write
  • Master Math 2.0
  • Exceptional Executive Functioning Skills

PROGRAM FORMAT – Each individual program runs as follows:

  • 1 hour per day, Monday through Thursday, for one week of your choosing
  • The cost per individual program (4 hours total) is $495
  • If desired, additional intensives can be added in increments of 4 days (Monday through Thursday formatting)
  • Due to the individualized nature of our programs, time slots are scheduled in the order in which registration forms are received.

Ready Reader

Foundations

Help your children gain confidence in core reading skills with Thinking Organized’s Ready Reader: Foundations program! In this one-on-one, four-day program, your children will participate in multi-sensory activities, computer games, and phonological-based programs to strengthen their foundational reading skills.

This program can be adapted to any reading level and is designed to help your children:

  • Improve their ability to identify sound/symbol relationships
  • Decode unfamiliar words
  • Read more fluently
  • Learn sound patterns needed for spelling

Building Comprehension

Literature becomes more complex as students move through school, and their teachers expect them to sustain attention to longer and complicated texts. Join Thinking Organized this summer to strengthen these core skills in our Ready Reader: Building Comprehension program! During this one-on-one, week-long program, students will learn to build comprehension skills through character analysis, chapter summaries, and annotation. 

This program can be adapted to any reading level and is designed to help your children:

  • Utilize context to define novel vocabulary
  • Differentiate between main ideas and supporting details 
  • Take notes to remain focused while reading 

Summer Reading

Required summer reading does not have to be a chore with Thinking Organized’s Ready Reader: Summer Reading program. During this one-on-one or small group, four-day program, students will learn to actively engage in reading through a variety of strategies and activities. Students may either bring in their assigned summer reading or a book of their choice. Imagine – your child can have it all done before school starts and have fun doing it!

This program can be adapted to any reading assignment and is designed to help your children:

  • Strengthen basic reading comprehension skills
  • Learn how to sustain attention to longer texts
  • Practice taking notes while reading

Just Write

Just Write: The Basics is an individualized approach to improving a student’s writing. In this four-day, one-on-one series, students will learn strategies for key steps the writing process, including pre-writing, drafting, and revising. Students will complete small writing assignments so that they can have hands-on practice utilizing these tools.

This program can be adapted to any writing level and is designed to help your children:

  • Use graphic organizers and other pre-writing strategies to plan out writing
  • Expand on descriptions and go beyond the minimum 
  • Convey ideas clearly

Master Math 2.0

Discover the excitement of mathematics through our new and improved Master Math 2.0 summer workshop. Dive into engaging Math Packet Power-Up sessions where young learners conquer challenges with confidence while receiving personalized support from experienced instructors. Explore hands-on Math-tastic Adventures and Explorations, fostering creativity and curiosity as students delve into fun math challenges and puzzles. Our program provides a supportive environment where every child’s mathematical journey is celebrated, setting the stage for a lifelong love of learning.

This program can be adapted to any math level and is designed to help your child:

  • Work through their assigned summer packet and review various problem-solving techniques and strategies.
  • Engage in interactive activities such as math games, puzzles, and experiments.
  • Explore advanced topics and skills to get a head start on the upcoming school year.

Exceptional Executive Functioning Skills: Fundamentals

Join Thinking Organized this summer for our Exceptional Executive Functioning Skills – Fundamentals program, an intensive, one-on-one program designed to introduce Elementary grade students to a variety of material organization, time management, memory, and studying strategies. Students will learn about their own learning style and the unique methods they can use to better organize their homework environment and retain and comprehend information while completing homework and preparing for tests. Students will also participate in brain games and simulated studying situations to practice memory and executive functioning skills.

Schedule for Intensive Program

  • Day 1: Organizing the homework/study environment, using an academic/online planner to manage assignments, choosing a binder system, purchasing school supplies
  • Day 2: Identifying and understanding your learning style and practicing memory strategies
  • Day 3: Learning successful study strategies and creating plans for homework, long-term projects, and studying
  • Day 4: Learning how to remain focused at home and in school, recognizing when it’s appropriate to self-advocate, setting school year goals

Students must bring a laptop and a pen.
